Cooperation between UNESCO-IHE and University of Khartoum

The UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education in Delft, the Netherlands and the University of Khartoum in Sudan, signed a cooperation agreement on 18 March 2009, on collaboration in education, training and research in the sustainable management of water and environmental resources between the two Institutes.

Richard Meganck, Rector at UNESCO-IHE (left at the table) and Mohamed A. El Sheikh, President of the University of Khartoum represented the two parties at the signing ceremony. The entourage met on the Water Travelers’ catamaran, just outside the 5th World Water Forum venue Sütlüce, on the banks of the Golden Horn River in Istanbul, Turkey. After the signing, the party went inside the catamaran to observe the photo exhibition.
