From 14 until 18 November 2011, the UNESCO-IHE Refresher Seminar on "Management of Climate Change Related Risks in Coastal Lowlands: Balancing Water Allocations for Food, People and Environment" co-organiser with the UEM/University Eduardo Mondlane (Prof Rui Brito), was held in Maputo, Mozambique.
25 alumni from 12 African countries participated in the course and 20 of them have received NFP scholarship from NUFFIC. Teachers were from UEM: Alvaro CarmoVaz, Diniz Juizo, Judite Manhique, from UNESCO-IHE: Mr Ton Bresser, Mr Frank van der Meulen, Mr Erik de Mr Ruyter van Steveninck and from Rijkswaterstaat: Mr Rien van Zetten.
During the course an Alumni Gathering was organized and was honored with the presence of another 7 alumni from the Maputo region.
