Although urbanization offers enormous opportunities for socio-economic growth in many low-income countries, the process also presents major challenges for sustainable development.
The Department of Urban Water and Sanitation deals with the analysis and design of urban infrastructure systems related to water, wastewater and solid waste, at various scales, ranging from communities to large cities.
