Scientific award for Prof. Huub Savenije
Professor Huub Savenije, Professor of Integrated Water Resources Management at UNESCO-IHE and chairman of the Netherlands National Committee IHP-HWRP, will be awarded the Henry Darcy Medal of the European Geosciences Union (EGU).

The Medal is reserved for individuals in recognition of their outstanding scientific contributions in water resources research and water resources engineering and management.
The official ceremony will take place during the EGU General Assembly in Vienna, April 2008. Huub Savenije is the first Dutch person to be distinguished with the Medal.
Professor Savenije joined UNESCO-IHE in 1990 after working in consultancy services and for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He is also Professor at TU Delft and Vrij Universiteit of Amsterdam. His main areas of research are hydrology of river basins, hydrology of estuaries and deltas, rainfall-runoff analysisand water resources management.
