Resume

Dr. Jan Bartacek joined UNESCO-IHE as a Post-Doc researcher in June 2008, when he started his Marie Curie Intra European Fellowship "Bioavailability of trace metals in anaerobic granular sludge reactors".

His main qualification is wastewater technology and environmental chemistry. He received his MSc and PhD degree in Environmental Chemistry and Technology at the Institute of Chemical Technology in Prague (The Czech Republic). During his PhD study he co-worked on several wastewater-related projects with the industry (e.g. "Hydraulic characteristics of anaerobic digesters at the Wastewater Treatment Plant of Prague." or "Development of technology for treatment of industrial wastewater from nitrocellulose production.").

In 2006 - 2008 Jan Bartacek was employed as a Postdoc in the Marie Curie Excellent Team at the Sub-department of Environmental Technology, Wageningen University (The Netherlands).
