Senior expert in Water Resources Engineering, Water Resources Management and GIS with UNESCO-IHE, bringing in over 30 years of experience in consultancy, design, modelling and integrated water management, together with project management, project identification and formulation, lecturing and course management.
Expertise: Water resources management, surface water modelling, groundwater modelling, engineering hydrology, groundwater hydrology, project management, water and climate, and e-communication

Experience: Key lecturer in above subjects, course director of modelling training programmes, project manager at various projects, ad-hoc consultancy

Strong involvement in projects in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe, where he contributed in consultancy, project management activities, capacity building and transfer of knowledge.

Specifically Identification, formulation and initiation of two major Capacity Building projects in Kenya and Yemen. Yemen (started in 1990) as resident project manager on water sector capacity building in collaboration with Sana'a University. Substantial contribution to institutional and HR strengthening of the various Dutch projects and founding of a complete professional Research and Training Division in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering. A founding father of the MSc course and consultancy group in Water and Environmental Engineering at the Sana'a University.

Till 2006 Project director of a similar project in Regional Capacity Building at the World Meteorological Organisation Regional Training Centre in Nairobi. Involvement from 1975 when the first Capacity building activities started. At present a full-fletch training and research programme has been established (www.wmo-imtr.org). Target was the implementation of a Regional Hydrological and Water Management Consultancy group to serve the East-African Region. A major emphasis is given to Knowledge Network development for the Region.

In addition involved in a wide range of consultancy activities, research activities and lecturing at international universities and institutions.
