Associate Professor of Integrated River Basin Management
Resume
Wim Douven is scientific staff member at IHE Delft in the Environmental Resources Department. He holds a PhD in spatial informatics from the Vrije Universeit Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Wim Douven has wide experience in multi-disciplinary research and training projects in the field of integrated water and environmental resources management both in western countries as well as in developing countries.
He elaborated system analysis, policy analysis, stakeholder analysis, GIS and information systems concepts and approaches in this field, which resulted in a number of reports and international publications.
He has extensive international research and project management experience (Europe, Indonesia, Cambodia, China).
Dr Douven is involved in networking and capacity building activities in SE-Asia to strengthen regional capacity in Integrated Water and Environmental Resources Management. Prior to joining IHE, Dr Douven was working at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and the National Institute for the Environment and Public Health (RIVM) in the Netherlands.
