MSc PROGRAMMES

Follow these steps to apply to one of UNESCO-IHE's MSc Programmes (unless an alternative application procedure is specifically mentioned in the text of the specialization of your choice).

Step 1.

Read carefully through the contents of all MSc Programmes and their specializations before deciding which programme and specialization will benefit you the most.

We advise you to apply for the programme/ specialization that best suits your academic background, work experience and that would best meet your future plans.

Please keep in mind that you only can apply for one (1) programme per academic year at the same time.

Step 2.

Check if you meet the following admission requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a field related to the programme you would like to join. If an MSc programme/ specialization has specific requirements, they are mentioned at the particular MSc programme/ specialization page.
  • In principle, candidates should have some working experience in an environment related to the specialization. At least three years experience is normally preferred.
  • The English language requirements for all of UNESCO-IHE's educational programmes.
Step 3.

Click here to download the MSc application form.

Collect the documents that are needed to apply, and which should be sent with your completed and signed application form:

  • Certified photocopies of your degrees/ diplomas;
  • Certified copy of academic transcripts translated in English (this is a list with subjects that you followed at university, including the marks you obtained);
  • Two reference letters, preferably one from a person that can judge your professional abilities (current employer) and one from a person that can judge your academic abilities;
  • Copy of passport;
  • Passport size photo;
  • Copy of results of English language test score, if required (see the English requirements here).
Step 4.

Only send your application if it is complete: incomplete applications will not be taken into consideration. However, if you do not have your English language test result yet, you can already send the application without it. If applicable, you will receive a conditional admission letter. In this case final admission may be given later after receipt and approval of the English language test.

Send your application by airmail to:

UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education
Student Affairs Office
P.O. Box 3015
2601 DA Delft
The Netherlands

As your original signature is required, as well as the original and certified documents mentioned above, UNESCO-IHE can not and does not accept electronic, scanned nor photocopied applications.
